Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026 (draft)
MySubbies group ("MySubbies", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights — in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
1. What we collect
- Customers: name, phone number, email, property address, job details and photos you provide, and payment information (processed by our payment provider — we do not store full card details ourselves).
- Contractors: business name, ABN, contact details, trade licence and insurance information, service area, and bank details for payouts.
- Automatically: basic usage data (pages visited, device/browser type) via standard website analytics.
2. How we use it
- To generate quotes, match jobs to contractors, and process payments.
- To verify contractor licensing and insurance before granting portal access.
- To communicate with you about a job, your account, or a support request.
- To meet our own legal, accounting, and regulatory obligations.
3. Who we share it with
We share only what's needed to deliver the job:
- Your name, address, phone number and job details are shared with the specific contractor assigned to your job — not with any other contractor.
- Payment information is shared with our payment processor to process transactions.
- We do not sell personal information to third parties.
- We may disclose information where required by law, or to protect the safety of any person.
4. Data storage and security
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access. No online system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted to us.
5. Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your information, subject to our legal record-keeping obligations.
- Make a complaint about how we've handled your information — see contact details below.
6. Data breaches
In the event of a data breach likely to result in serious harm, we will comply with our obligations under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, including notifying affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) where required.
7. Cookies
Our website may use cookies or similar technologies for basic functionality and analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent version.
