MySubbies group ("MySubbies", "we", "us") operates a platform that matches independent contractors with customers seeking trade services in Melbourne. You are engaged as an independent contractor, not an employee, agent, or partner of MySubbies. You are responsible for your own trade licensing, insurance, tax obligations (including GST and superannuation, where applicable) and the standard and safety of work you perform.
You must apply and be approved separately for each trade category you wish to receive jobs in. Approval depends on the licence, insurance, ABN, and other information you provide at application, and may be reviewed or revoked if that information lapses, expires, or is found to be inaccurate. MySubbies may suspend or decline your access to a category at its discretion.
Being approved does not guarantee any volume, frequency, or value of jobs. Jobs are matched to one contractor at a time from the approved panel for that category and area — this is not an open-bidding marketplace, and you do not pay a lead fee to receive a job offer.
MySubbies retains a platform commission of 25% of the customer-facing job price; the remaining 75% is your payout for the work performed. This split applies uniformly across jobs and is not negotiated per job.
Jobs are paid in milestones specific to the job category (for example: deposit, materials, frame, completion). The customer pays each milestone through MySubbies using real card payment once you've submitted evidence of the work and they've reviewed and approved it — you claim a milestone in your contractor portal, the customer approves and pays, and the charge is processed and held by MySubbies.
Your deposit-stage payout (75% of the deposit collected) is transferred to you automatically on a weekly schedule once the deposit is confirmed, undisputed, and a short holding period has passed. Payouts for materials, frame and completion stages are currently processed manually by the MySubbies accounts team rather than automatically — this will move to the same automatic weekly process once that flow has been proven stable, and you'll be notified when it changes.
If you identify extra work once on site, you may submit a variation with a description and price. You must not charge, or represent as approved, any amount beyond the original job price unless the customer has approved the variation.
Customer contact and site details shared with you are provided solely to carry out the assigned job and must not be used for any other purpose, retained beyond what's needed, or shared with third parties.
You must carry out work safely, lawfully, and to a tradesperson-reasonable standard, and hold current licensing and insurance appropriate to the work performed. Repeated disputes, safety incidents, or expired compliance documents may result in suspension or removal from the panel.
Your referral code, if used by another contractor or customer, may entitle you to a referral benefit as described in the app at the time of signup. Referral terms may change prospectively and will not alter benefits already earned.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MySubbies' liability to you arising from this agreement is limited to unpaid amounts properly owed to you for completed, approved work. MySubbies is not liable for loss arising from your conduct, work quality, or compliance failures — responsibility for the work performed sits with you.
Either party may end this arrangement at any time. Jobs already accepted must still be completed or handed back through the proper replacement-contractor process, not abandoned.
This agreement is governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
